Easter and Mark's Strange Gospel Ending

It's Easter month and I've been reflecting on the strange ending to Mark's resurrection story. Our oldest manuscripts have the gospel ending abruptly in verse 8, without us ever seeing the resurrected Christ. What's Mark up to and what can we learn from it.
